Pastor Peter Schmidt
Pastor Schmidt was born in Milwaukee, and attended William T. Sherman School, Pilgrim Lutheran School, and Milwaukee Lutheran High School. He received a B.A. degree from Concordia University Wisconsin in 1985 and an M. Div degree from Concordia Seminary, St. Louis, MO in 1989. After spending another year working on a Master of Sacred Theology degree at Concordia Seminary (awarded in 1995), he was ordained into the pastoral ministry of the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod on June 24, 1990, and was installed as pastor of Zion Lutheran Church, Ridgeville Corners, Ohio in July of 1990. Since October of 1995, he has been serving at Beautiful Savior, becoming sole pastor in June, 2009. Pastor Schmidt has served as a zone counselor for the Lutheran Laymen's League and the Lutheran Women's Missionary League. He has taught periodically at Concordia University Wisconsin, and served for nine years as Circuit Counselor for the metro- southwest circuit of the South Wisconsin District of the Lutheran Church- Missouri Synod. Pastor and his wife Ellen (Wangerin) were married in 1985 and are blessed with three children: Marissa, Kristen, and Isaac. Ellen has an Associate's degree in secretarial science from Concordia University Wisconsin and works as an administrative assistant as well as being a substitute organist when needed. Pastor and Ellen are avid Milwaukee Brewers fans and love spending family time together enjoying the wonders of God's creation.
