Holy Communion
In the sacrament of Holy Communion we believe our Lord is really present, offering us in, with and under the bread and wine His true body and blood for the forgiveness of our sins and the strengthening of our faith. Since partaking at the Table of our Lord indicates not only a communion with our Lord but also an agreement with all that we teach and confess, we ask that you speak to one of the Pastors before the service should you desire to commune, if you are not a communicant member of the Lutheran Church - Missouri Synod.
As the sacrament of Holy Communion is celebrated, we invite those partaking to receive the bread by extending their open hand into which the bread will be placed. When receiving the wine, the communicant may partake either from the individual cup tray [the center circle of cups is the non-alcoholic wine] or from the common cup. If you commune with an individual cup, please let your empty individual cup remain visible so that the person distributing the common cup is aware that you have already communed.
Children may accompany their parents as they commune. The Pastors will speak a word of blessing to each child.
